Bill Lowe MA, BEd, FHEA, NPQH
The new (ish!) member of the team.
Bill was an assistant sales manager for a sports equipment sales agency at the age of 23. He ran a team of five sales agents. "And I was a complete disaster! I knew how to close a sale, but I didn't have a clue how to lead or manage anyone - especially two guys who were 20 years older than me".
He's come a long way since then. He has a Master's Degree in Leadership and Learning from University of Leicester, UK and runs Master's degree leadership modules at Newman University, Birmingham , UK.
Bill has been a senior leader (School Principal) and had significant middle leadership experience in different organizations.
He is unusual in that his experience crosses different industries. This is a real strength. He can talk about (and often does) selling mezzanine floors, life insurance and table tennis tables; then will 'entertain' you with stories of leading a big team of creatives in the University world.
He is the author of 'Middle Leadership for 21st Century Schools'. It is recognised as a book that brings theory and practice together. It is gaining a fine reputation, with a recent comment on LinkedIn saying "I'm halfway through and loving it!". Bill hopes the second half lives up to expectations.
He is working with Richard on a similar book for the business market.
His learning philosophy?
"Delegates have to be engaged from the outset and see the value of the training. It's no good sitting in a room all day not knowing how what you are listening to is going to help you be better at what you do."
