The way we communicate and interact with others involves two of the four pillars of emotional intelligence (social awareness and relationship management).
At MTI we have a pragmatic approach to developing these key competences, using objective-based coaching supported by tools and techniques such as our BIKER-B presentation model or our FACILITRAINING RAINBOW model of interaction and delivery styles.
Below are a couple of examples of recent coaching delivery:
Case 1
Coaching – newly promoted executive – Saudi Arabia Identified needs for improved communication and cultural awareness with a desire to increase their style of leadership to be more assertive and confident. Result After 4 months there was a much-improved communication style with a more confident approach and clearer messaging. As proven by a presentation to their management team live-streamed to MTI.
Case 2
Coaching – new project leadership –Multinational Dubai Young executive working with a team on various projects. Certain overconfidence and complicated delivery style meant a loss of respect and confidence from both senior leadership and the team. Result: Improved delivery of key messages and a better awareness of self and the team member’s needs.
Building of self-awareness and development of self-management
These two pillars of emotional intelligence are a critical foundation not only for many of the interpersonal skills that are essential in today’s workplace, but also for personal competences such as resilience.
Our core MTI team includes an equine-assisted learning specialist who facilitates workshops using ground-based exercises with horses as a rich source of data in the areas of self-awareness and self-management. These workshops are followed up by individual and team coaching to support the application of learning in the workplace.
